As we lead up to Easter, youth group is doing a four-part series on the journey of Jesus towards the cross.

Thank you to those who have given towards Easter camp. We are thankful for all your generosity and commitment. We will continue to give until the Easter weekend is over. Here are the giving methods.

Adopt a camper – Make a pledge/donation to pay for the Easter camp fee for a camper. This can be any amount. (The current Easter camp fee is $278.)

Bake sale – everyone loves a bake sale. We get to bake, sell, buy and eat all at the same time. This will be on Sunday 29th March after the service.

We also need some good tents and any camping gear that you may have and are willing to give (mattresses, sleeping bags, stretchers).Community

Upcoming SGM

Notice is hereby given for a Special General Meeting on Sunday, 22nd March 2026.

With the changing dynamics at HCC, there has been a shift of leadership roles and more people taking on more responsibility. There has also been a change among the elders in order to serve better. The purpose of this meeting is to clarify the changes and also share a way forward with leadership roles vs being an elder. Bring a plate to share.

Children’s Church

One more week of this theme of contending for the next generation. We are intentional and directional in what we teach and how we raise our children as a church family. Our calling is to work alongside the parents to help the children grow in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and with man.
We are still praying and searching for someone in a paid position to step up and co-ordinate this precious ministry. We still need all the volunteers we can get, and we are thankful for all those who volunteer every week.
You can see the full job description (or share it with someone who might be a good fit) on the CCNZ here.

FINALLY

As a pastor, my prayer for you is that you engage in God’s word and prayer and that becomes the centre of your life now and in the future. I am urging you to read Galatians again and again. It’s only 169 verses. Here is a formula to read it.

Read it once through. Do it without thinking of chapters and verses.

Listen to it, either through headphones or in your car as you work or as you go about your day.

Read it with a pen and paper and see what comes up. Questions, clarifications, odd comments, and then bring those along, and we will answer them.

Wise Old Friends

The wise old friends group meets every first Sunday of the month in the afternoon. They meet at various parks and share lunch as well as their beautiful lives and life experiences.
